What’s the plan?
We are considering long-term mission work in Chad. We will be spending the entire month of July in Eastern Chad, primarily with one people group: the Z@gh@w@ (the @ replaces the letter a… our contact Dave does it in his emails so we are following his lead).
The Z@gh@w@ have never heard the gospel message, that salvation comes through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We plan to spend the month of July shadowing a missionary to see what mission work looks like in the field while being used by God however He desires. We hope to discern God’s call through this trip to see how He might use us in the future.
Why go?
The Lord has laid upon each of our hearts a desire to share the Gospel where Jesus’ name has not been heard (Romans 15:20-21). We are going because we believe we are being called to go.

35Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Why the Z@gs?
The four of us did not set out looking for Chad or the Z@gh@w@ people but, in a way that only God could work out, He laid this opportunity in front of each of us and has given us the grace and faith to say, “Here I am, send me.” (Isaiah 6:8) The Z@gh@w@ people group is 100% Muslim and is one of several hundred people groups in the world that has not yet been reached with the gospel. This means that the Great Commission is still ongoing and there is no time to waste: ”do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” John 4:35
